EFC VOlunteer day with Apollo global management and disney voluntears

Civic Soul and the Eaton Fire Collaborative were happy to welcome Apollo and Disney VoluntEARS for a day of service! They painted a beautiful mural designed by Beau Hoffman of Terbeau Design Studio, built furniture and added toys, games, and art supplies for families visiting the EFC, and they restocked the store that gives away free home essentials and more.

The devastating fire may have ended over a year ago, but the repercussions continue to affect the community. It will take years to rebuild. It will take decades for many survivors to financially recover and the trauma may last a lifetime. The Eaton Fire Collaborative is a space where survivors can go for guidance in rebuilding, financial assistance, and receive mental health services with the help of the 200 or so nonprofit partners, of which Civic Soul is proud to be a member.

Everyone enjoyed breakfast from Unincorporated Coffee and lunch from Perry’s Joint. We feel it’s important to support local small businesses as often as we can.

Thank you to Apollo, Disney, Made by Molly (who donated boxes of new clothing), our artist Beau and to all our supporters and volunteers who made this day possible. Thank you to Nic Arnzen, Altadena Town Council Chair, EFC manager, and fire survivor for educating our volunteers on the state of Altadena today.
