Happy Earth day!
We celebrated Earth Day by getting our hands dirty at a “Going Native” service event with Project Monarch LA. Guided by Jason Wise, we learned the difference between native and invasive plants—and what it really takes to support monarch butterflies. We cleared out invasive mustard and other species to give native milkweed and white sage the space they need to thrive in Elysian Park. At one point, a monarch and a hummingbird drifted through like tiny cheerleaders. It was one of those perfect days—sun on your face, hands in the soil—and a simple, powerful reminder that taking care of this planet starts right where we are.
